I’m part of a panel on “Vegan America: Race, Food, and Politics,” at 6:00 p.m. at 20 Cooper Square, Fifth Floor.

Other panelists are David Carter (Founder, 300 Pound Vegan; Retired NFL Defensive Lineman), Syl Ko (Co-Author, APHRO-ISM: Essays on Pop Culture, Feminism, and Black Veganism from Two Sisters), and Renan Larue (Assistant Professor of French Literature, UC Santa Barbara).

I’m giving two talks today, both open to the public and free.  Information is here.

  • Noon: I am giving Grand Rounds on “Food Politics: Diet and Cancer Prevention,” Concord Hospital Family Health Center, 250 Pleasant St.
  • 6:30 p.m.: I am speaking on “Food Politics: Food Industry Influences on Diet and Health,” at Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St.  A book signing will follow.

Boston: Lancet Commission

I’m speaking at the Boston University School of Public Health at a symposium titled “One Year Later: The Trump Administration and the Health of the Public.”  The symposium is co-sponsored by BU and the Lancet Commission on Public Policy and Health in the Trump Era.   My talk on Trump Policies on Food and Nutrition is in a panel that begins at 10:10.  The conference will be held from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Herbert Lounge, BU Public Health School, 72 East Concord St, Boston.  Details here.

I’m speaking at the 3rd annual conference on “Dietary and Lifestyle Strategies for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction.”  I’m giving the closing talk at 12:40 p.m. on “Food Politics: Overcoming the Barriers to Healthy Diets.”  This is at Langone Medical Center at Alumni Hall 550 1st Ave.
